MARCH IS CRAFTY

March is craft month and we have been creating some magnificent projects in ART!! This week we made coasters with our own personal photos.  Using Mod Podge, we transferred images from printer paper to tiles.  What fun it was to uncover our creations! Functional Art!

Georgia O'Keeffe

Georgia O'Keeffe!  We began our lesson by studying patterns found in flowers.  Patterns made with colors, lines, shapes, etc.  Each student created a flower, real or imaginary, using pastels on colored paper. What gorgeous color combinations and wonderful patterns!

Optical Illusions!!

What a wonderful art class today!!  We used our knowledge of patterns to create an optical illusion!! My students, using lines, made a hand that appeared as if it popped out of the page. One in particular reminded me of the "Magic Eye" illusions. Great job my young artists!
