WHAM! Lichtenstein created art with a comic book flair. Using dots of color, his artwork resembled the popular images used in Art during the 60's. The students created a self portrait using this style.

Watercolor Winter Trees
A forest of icy, watercolor trees were the subject of our art class today. These young artists created the cool feel of a winter day by using a wax resist method of painting. Overlapping pines draw the viewer into the artwork.....creating a feeling of depth.

Brrr.....Polar Bears
Polar bears and the Northern Lights!! What a combination! Using pastels, students drew an adorable little polar bear peeking over the edge of the forest(foreground). In the middle ground, large fir trees loom overhead. Snow softly falls in the background with the Northern Lights lighting up this colorful artwork!

WARM AND COOL COLOR SNOWMEN
Warm and cool colors, the topic of our lesson in the younger art class today, produced wonderful results. Students talked about how warm and cool cools made them feel.....calm or excited! Keeping with the season, the students then used their colors of choice to create a snowman landscape with paint and crayons!
