My older Art class is studying Architecture and Art this semester. Covering the concept of space and use of space the previous week, my artists used that concept and created houses. The criteria for their houses were no square or rectangular walls, free form shapes, and out of the ordinary use of ordinary ideas. The result was amazing!! Problem solving skills had to be used in order for the artists to get their unique ideas to work. At the end of class, they each had one minute to describe the features of their structure and answer any questions from fellow artists. Awesome job guys!!

Space, Shape and Form
Students this past week studied space and how to create a three dimentional drawing by using shading. We used peppers that had been divided. By halving the peppers, students could see both the inside and outside of the pepper. They then had to recreate that form on the paper without making the pepper look flat. We used charcoal on white paper and then drew the same object with white chalk on black paper. Wonderful job Artists!
